Billboard Names LADY GAGA 2010 Artist Of The Year

Just a year after taking the title for Billboard Best New Artist 2009 she has taken the crown for Billboard Artist Of The Year 2010. That shows you were talent and dedication will take you. She told herself she would take over the world and she did just that. The last artist to take both spots concurrently was Chris Brown back in 2006. Whitney Houston was the last female to do so way back in 1985. Since the start of the top overall artist category in 1981 only 7 women have taken home the trophy, including  Lady Gaga , Taylor Swift nabbed it in 2009, preceded by LeAnn Rimes (1997), Alanis Morissette (1996), Mariah Carey (1991), Whitney Houston (1986) and Madonna (1985).

GAGA takes the top spot thanks to the performance of both albums "The Fame" and "The Fame Monster" on the charts. Both albums rank 4th and 13th on the Top Billboard 200 Albums tally. Given that The Fame was released two years ago and still placed in 2010 is amazing. Four singles from those albums made the Top 100 Singles round up. "Bad Romance" placed highest at No.8.

American Music Awards Performances

I'll give it to Rihanna she stepped her game up and looked amazing as usual. That being said lets keep it real I felt I was watching a bad Beyonce "Baby Boy" impersonation.All she did was grind and walked back and forth on the stage basically doing the same routine that she does for "Rude Boy".The Bajan beauty's voice still hasn't shown any improvement at all live. Her back track and back ground singers were just as loud as her.Don't get it twisted I love Rihanna. I'm just not blinded to the fact that her success is attributed to the many managers, writers, producers,stylist and top dogs she has behind her. Her success has nothing to do with talent. I am rooting for Rihanna to come into her own with practice I'm sure she''ll find her way as a live performer she's just not there yet.Rihanna Performance here

When Industry Politics Get In The Way Of The Real Winners

Have you ever watched an award show and wondered to yourself how the heck did she/he win? Or did she/he really just win that category? It makes you wounder how artist like Rihanna who have no insight on the creative process of her work and have such a lack of ability or talent can beat out artist such as Sade and Alicia Keys who are both amazing artist all around. 

Well turns out if you watched last night horrible AMA's you saw first hand how industry politics work.

There have been numerous reports coming out that Chris Brown not Usher was the real winner for best Male R&B artist

It is being reported that on the roster at the show backstage the winners were previously know. Chris Browns name was shown for Best R&B artist, but since he was not there in attendance his award was given to Usher. By no means am I saying Usher didn't deserve to win.However, if Chris Brown was the real winner then YES Chris deserves his award not Usher.

That's not it there are reports coming out that Lady GAGA also was stubbed.

This is a email sent from GAGA's manager Troy Carter to his friend Israel Hernandez. Since Lady GAGA was a no show her award for Artist of the Year was given to teen pop sensation Justin Beiber.SMH

Billboard Releases Top 50 R&B and Hip Hop Artist (of the past 25 years)

In honor of all the artist that have made R&B and Hip Hop what it is today Billboard has assembled a list of the Top 50 R&B and Hip Hop Artist of the last 25 years. The tally is based on actual performances on the weekly Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts from Jan. 5, 1985, issue to the charts dated Nov. 6, 2010*. Artists were ranked  on an inverse point system (which just means that who ever spent the most weeks at No. 1 earned greater points than those that spent most time at the lower end of the chart).

Rihanna Get Topped By Subo On The Charts

Someone please give Susan her crown. Again she remains the Queen on the top of the album charts for the second consecutive week . With a projected estimate of 300k albums sold. With Rihanna's debut at a low number three with 180k-190k sold, Ouch! Putting her right below Jackie Evancho from Britain's Got Talent. Hopefully Miss Fentys album will pick up some steam  after her team releases countless singles from the album.
